Reserve ahead, especially if you are bringing a group.

Downtown · Sushi

Takashi

A downtown stop for sushi and Japanese dishes. A nice dinner choice after a day exploring the city.

Most seating is first come, first served; check the restaurant’s current group policy and plan for a wait.

What to explore

Downtown · History & architecture

Temple Square

Explore the grounds and visitor experiences in the heart of Salt Lake City. The Salt Lake Temple Celebration is planned for April–October 2027, overlapping our wedding month.

Use the official site to check open-house reservations and which visitor experiences require tickets.

University foothills · All ages

Natural History Museum of Utah

Discover dinosaurs, gems, and the landscapes that make Utah so distinctive. A great indoor option for families or a change of pace from outdoor exploring.

Reserve admission ahead and consider pairing it with nearby Red Butte Garden.

University foothills · Gardens & walks

Red Butte Garden

Wander themed gardens and foothill paths for a peaceful afternoon among flowers and mountain views.

Comfortable walking shoes are a good idea. Check the calendar separately for concerts and special events.

Great Salt Lake · A longer day trip

Antelope Island State Park

Head north of the city for wide lake views, scenic walks, and the chance to spot the island’s free-ranging bison.

Bring your own car, water, sun protection, and bug spray. Check park conditions and enjoy wildlife from a distance; rideshare pickups are not available in the park.

Park City

Make a mountain getaway of it: historic Main Street, leisurely brunches, Olympic history, and fresh-air adventures. Leave extra time for the drive down to South Jordan on the wedding day.

Where to stay

Park City · A mountain retreat

Hotel Park City

An alpine-style hotel with a spa and on-site dining. A lovely base if you are extending your visit into a relaxing mountain getaway.

Kimball Junction · Room to settle in

Newpark Resort

Stay near Kimball Junction’s shopping and dining. Suite options include kitchens, making this a useful choice for families or a longer visit.

Compare room categories and amenities before booking; layouts vary.

Where to eat

Snow Creek · Breakfast & lunch

An Australian-inspired café for coffee, colorful breakfasts, and a leisurely lunch. A lovely start before exploring town.

Check current hours and leave a little extra time for a popular brunch stop.

Historic Main Street · A special dinner

A refined dinner on Main Street with a seasonal American menu. A good pick for a memorable evening during your stay.

Book a table in advance; reservations are strongly recommended.

What to explore

Old Town · An easy afternoon

Historic Main Street

Browse independent shops, art galleries, and restaurants among Park City’s historic buildings. An easy outing without planning a full outdoor adventure.

Check the local calendar for markets and events rather than assuming they run every day.

Near Kimball Junction · Olympic history

Utah Olympic Park

Explore the legacy of the 2002 Winter Games, the museum, and the park’s adventure offerings.

Adventure activities have seasonal schedules and participation requirements. Check the June 2027 calendar before booking.

Near Park City · Lakeside time

Jordanelle State Park

Bring a picnic to the reservoir or plan a day by the water. The Hailstone area is a useful starting point for day-use facilities and marina access.

Check park conditions, day-use fees, and rental availability before making water-activity plans.

Deer Valley · Seasonal mountain views

Deer Valley Scenic Chairlifts

If your stay extends into the resort’s summer season, scenic lift rides are a beautiful way to enjoy the mountains.

Early June can be before summer opening. Confirm the 2027 operating dates before planning around a lift ride.

A few helpful details

Sandy · Closer to the celebration

Hilton Garden Inn Salt Lake City/Sandy

Prefer to stay in the south valley, closer to South Jordan? Consider this Sandy hotel, then visit Salt Lake City or Park City as a day trip.

Getting around

The TRAX Green Line connects Salt Lake City’s airport with downtown. Park City has fare-free local buses. For the wedding in South Jordan and outings beyond town, plan your car or ride separately and leave room for traffic.

Packing for early June

Bring a light layer for cool mountain evenings, comfortable walking shoes, water, and sun protection. Higher trails and summer lifts can open later than town attractions; check conditions before heading up.

These are suggestions for your visit. Check each official site for your travel dates, current rates, reservations, and accessibility details.
